Notice of Awarding One Part-Time Contract for Indigent Legal Defense
Reno Municipal Court has one part-time contract available for indigent legal defense. This contract, which pays $83,431 annually, requires experience working with limited-jurisdiction courts and may include representing specialty court participants. Naming Ceremony for Nevada Supreme Court and Nevada Court of Appeals Courthouse in Las Vegas
What: The Nevada Supreme Court is pleased to announce the Supreme Court and Nevada Court of Appeals Courthouse in Las Vegas will be named in honor of Justice James W. Hardesty.
When: The naming ceremony will take place at 3 p.m., March 19, 2020, in the courtroom during a special session of the Nevada Supreme Court.
Where: 408 E. Clark Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Justice Hardesty led the public education campaign to amend Nevada’s Constitution to create a Court of Appeals and was instrumental in working with the Nevada Legislature, Governor Brian Sandoval and Governor Sisolak, who was chair of the Clark County Commission at the time, in making the move to the new courthouse a reality.
The Nevada Supreme Court entered a long-term lease with EHB Companies to occupy the building until 2042, with an option for an additional 20 years. EHB Companies will install an inscription honoring Justice Hardesty on the courthouse.
Governor Steve Sisolak is confirmed to attend. A public reception will follow the ceremony in the Courthouse Atrium.
