FIRST JUDICIAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMEND COURT RULES –Details here

MAGISTRATE JUDGE WILLIAM G. COBB
will be retiring on January 4, 2022, after more than ten years of dedicated service to the Court.  Judge Cobb has diligently served as a Magistrate Judge in the District of Nevada since September 4, 2011.  Full press release here.

LAWYER REPRESENTATIVES FOR UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT for the District of Nevada is accepting applications for Lawyer Representatives.  Lawyer Representatives provide vital input to the Court on a myriad of issues affecting the operations of the federal courts including but not limited to: rule changes; development of new programs; planning of conferences; and the expenditure of funds from the non-appropriated account.  A full public notice for Lawyer Representative is available on the court’s website.  Letters of interest must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021.  Questions can be directed to the Clerk of the Court at 702.464.5456.

Westlaw Edge

The Washoe County Law Library is thrilled to announced that Westlaw is offering free remote access to Westlaw Edge, to allow Law Library patrons to perform legal research remotely from the safety of their home or office.  Historically, Westlaw access has only been available to patrons from within the Law Library.

Patrons can register for a trial Westlaw login at: https://legal.thomsonreuters.com/en/forms/try-westlaw.  Content includes Westlaw Edge, secondary sources, and litigation.  For more information, call the Law Library at (775)328-3250.

Eflex Account Information

The Second Judicial District Court has posted an updated instructional video on the Court’s website regarding how to establish an Eflex Account for electronic filing.  The link for the video is above “Step One” on the website and available here.

You will also find a fillable user agreement with the required sections highlighted.  Additionally, Recourse Center staff are available Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm on Live Chat to provide assistance.  Access available at www.washoecourts.com.
