Member-Only Access for Writ Archives, Member Directory

Beginning Monday, February 4, the searchable Writ archives and member directory will be password protected and available only to current members of WCBA. Members who are current for 2008 will receive a "Welcome" card with username (login) and password by the first week of February. The Writ archives currently feature all of the columns published in Discovery & Arbitration and Family Law Perspectives. Columns from Estates, Across the Line and Judicial Ethics will be added soon.

2006 Judicial Survey Results

The Washoe County Bar Association released the results of the 2006 performance evaluation of Washoe County Judges, Commissioners and Masters and Nevada Supreme Court Justices on July 27, 2006. The confidential evaluation was completed by 278 attorneys who practice regularly in Washoe County, an increase of 24% over the 2004 Judicial Survey.

Bar Luncheon • Wed. May 14, 12 noon, Harrah's

Lawyers, Judges, Courts & the Press

Courts, lawyers and judges get plenty of press in local and national media these days. The May 14th WCBA luncheon will be a discussion of how legal news is covered. Gary Hengstler, Director of Donald W. Reynolds Center for Media & the Courts will moderate the conversation as well as contribute to the discussion. Reno lawyers Scott Freeman and David Houston will share their own stories from highly publicized criminal cases. Victoria Campbell, KRNV News, brings many years of covering the courts. Stephanie Kruse, KPS/3, will add comments and advice from the public relations viewpoint.
