Courts, lawyers and judges get plenty of press in local and national media these days. The May 14th WCBA luncheon will be a discussion of how legal news is covered. Gary Hengstler, Director of Donald W. Reynolds Center for Media & the Courts will moderate the conversation as well as contribute to the discussion. Reno lawyers Scott Freeman and David Houston will share their own stories from highly publicized criminal cases. Victoria Campbell, KRNV News, brings many years of covering the courts. Stephanie Kruse, KPS/3, will add comments and advice from the public relations viewpoint. RSVP by 5 p.m. Monday, May 12. We’re rolling back to the 2005 lunch price of $20 for prepaid reservations. Domestic Violence Protection Order Process in Washoe County Family Court
Tuesday, May 20, 2-5:15 p.m., 3 Hours CLE, Thompson Federal Courthouse
Family Court Master, Victoria Van Meter, will discuss the protection order process in Washoe County and the 2007 legislative changes involving domestic violence protection orders.
